Welcome to the Association of Upper GI Surgeons trainee (AUGISt) website
We aim to represent the views of trainees in all branches of upper gastrointestinal surgery (oesophagogastric, hepatobiliary, pancreatic and bariatric surgery). Membership of AUGISt is automatic on joining AUGIS as a trainee member.
The annual scientific meeting was once again an excellent event with presentations from a wide range of delegate with lively debates that continued in the bar afterwards! The annual meeting remains a hugely important focus of the year for upper GI surgery in the UK and Ireland. I hope trainee members will continue to use it to disseminate their work, gain a broader experience of practice across the country and socialise with a few like-minded colleagues.
The 2017 ASiT International Surgical Conference will be held in the beautiful seaside town of Bournemouth, 31 March – 2 April 2017. With a fantastic line up of plenaries and workshops, covering topics across surgical practice, training and research, there is something for delegates of all stages of training.
